Norman Rockwell’s Stockbridge Walking Tour, September 20th at 3:00pm -4:30pm Take a guided walking tour of downtown Stockbridge and discover how the town and its inhabitants both inspired Norman Rockwell and appeared in some of his most iconic works of art. Explore the history of this 1734 village–including its Mohican origins.

Stops will include Norman Rockwell’s home on South Street, his first studio on Main Street, the Old Corner House (site of the original Norman Rockwell Museum), Chief John Konkapot’s property, the Red Lion Inn, the former site of Alice’s Restaurant, and more!

$20; separate from Museum Admission. These tours do not take place at the Museum. Tour groups will meet on Main Street. Transportation to Main Street from the Museum is not provided. Limited capacity – advance reservations required. Event is rain or shine. Group size maximum of 15. Berkshire Botanical Garden presents Dancing in the garden — 5-8pm on September 14th — You may be reading this after September 14. SU us posting it because it is such a delicious idea and for as long as the weather permits we hope BBG with repeat the event. Berkshire Botanical Garden Announces New Art Exhibition: ‘Flock: Watercolor Paintings by Robin Crofut-Brittingham’ on view from Oct. 18 through Nov. 30. This showcase features the original paintings from the artist’s new book, “The Illuminated Book of Birds” (Timber Press), alongside selected works from her broader fine art practice. Join BBG for a public opening reception on Friday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Berkshire Botanical Garden. Gallery Hours Daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free admission. Monument Mountain High School Building Project presents an informational session and school tour on September 16, 2025. Tour 5:15; presentation 6pm. Free

To provide space for opinion, but since facts and opinions are different, to clearly mark opinion pieces, and clearly identify the opinion holder.

Stockbridge Updates is a periodic newsletter delivered through email.

Stockbridge Updates Policy with Respect to Submissions

SU welcomes your letters and other submissions on all Stockbridge subjects, history and current events, news and human interest, whatever is on your mind. As with articles and opinion pieces, letters are 400 words or less, no personal attacks, and always attach your name. SU does not include personal information and will delete telephone numbers, email addresses, post office boxes, and street addresses. Limit one submission per month.

Stockbridge Updates: Format

SU is attempting to present a consistent format for readers. SU begins with its Table of Contents. The SU Editorial is next and then the News. News is divided between one-time events, such as the election and events around town, and recurring reporting, such as the Notes from… section. It is called Notes from… because SU attends the town meetings, takes notes, and reports what happened. If SU has a comment or question, it is at the end of the meeting identified as Editor’s Comment or Editor’s Question. The next section is Contributors. Under contributors, you may find Stockbridge history, opinion pieces, or information from a Committee Chair or elected official. Our final section is Reader to Reader, our letter section. The issue closes with the SU Statement of Purpose and Policy for Contributors. We welcome all letter writers and contributors; deadline on the 10th for the issue posted on the 15th of the month and on the 26th for the issue posted on the first.
